ARRESTED
Arrested, a series of intertitles for an upcoming silent film by Kent, captures the suspended narratives of lives interrupted by the carceral state. Each painting functions like a cinematic still; symbolic, frozen, and haunting, drawing attention to the systemic over-policing and criminalization of Black bodies. The series builds visual anticipation for the larger filmic project while standing alone as a potent commentary on justice and memory.
